OLYMPUS COMMENCES DRILLING AT KHE RIN

Olympus Pacific Minerals Inc. ("Olympus") is pleased to announce that drilling of the Khe Rin high-grade gold skarn prospect, located in the mid-western section of the Phuoc Son gold project has commenced. Phuoc Son is located in Central Vietnam, approximately 140 km SW of the city of Danang.

The first fence of drill holes at Khe Rin is designed to target a central (70 metres wide) zone, which has previously been the focus of intense artisan mining activity. Within this central zone, artisan miners have driven a series of adits (on about 20 metre centers) into a north-facing slope. Grab samples from these workings have revealed pyroxene skarn rocks containing pyrhotite-chalcopyrite-molybdenite and finely disseminated native gold. Petrographic studies of these samples also suggest that the skarn zone has been created by the presence of a nearby intrusive, possibly of syenitic composition, which implies that the skarn zone may be of substantial size. The skarn rocks are locally cut by 10 to 30 mm wide milky quartz veins, which feature gold grains visibly concentrated along the wall-rock contacts. The skarn rock assay results of these initial grab samples range from 0.86 g/t Au to 391.32 g/t Au.

The Khe Rin skarn zone appears to be elongated along a N-S axis, but may be offset along an ENE trending fault. The zone has been traced, across strike, over widths of up to 300m and for over 800m along strike. Further detailed geological mapping and rock sampling at Khe Rin is currently in progress. Also, grid soil sampling (presently covering 9 sq km) is being further extended to trace the extent of an elongated gold-in-soil anomaly, the axis of which is approximately coincident with the skarn zone. This prominent soil anomaly has so far been delineated for over 800m to the north of Khe Rin and 2,200m to the south.

The first stage of drilling will comprise four southeasterly declined drill holes. Contingent upon results obtained from these holes, subsequent fences of holes will be progressively stepped-out along strike to the north and south to delineate the subsurface geometry of the mineralization. Drill hole split-core assay results will be progressively announced as they become available.
